Featuring our own Kimberly Fredenburgh on viola, this concert brings together the New Mexico Philharmonic and maestro Victor Yampolsky in performances of Beethoven's Fidelio Overture, Bártok's Concerto for Viola and Orchestra, and the 2nd Symphony of Johannes Brahms.

Victor Yampolsky’s international conducting career includes conducting throughout Europe and, beginning in 2008, extensive engagements with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Esteemed as a teacher, conductor, and violinist, Yampolsky is Professor in Music Performance at the Northwestern University School of Music, and Music Director Emeritus of the Omaha Symphony.  Born in the Soviet Union in 1942, Yampolsky, the son of the great pianist Vladimir Yampolsky, studied violin with the legendary David Oistrakh at the Moscow Conservatory.
